This week’s One Word Photo Challenge from Jennifer Nichole Wells is… SANDSTORM.
Before leaving Australia, the east coast for a few days was lost beneath a veil of dust. Giant winds had pushed the sand and dirt across the state, creating a huge sandstorm all the way to the ocean.
This photograph was taken in the middle of the afternoon from our top balcony. Under normal circumstances you would be able to see the ocean between those trees. For weeks afterwards everything felt dirty.

I really love it when I’m in a foreign place and a natural phenomenon, like a sand storm, comes along…it’s better when it’s relatively harmless, like this experience. Great photo and description Joanne. 🙂

Thank you. The mere fact this dust-storm stretched across two states was amazing in itself. Eve the Opera House was covered! 🙂

While it doesn’t sound like a pleasant experience, this image is beautiful! I love the golden light.
