It’s funny how I once used this expression (complete with light punch and pinch) to an exchange student from Sweden who we had living with us. He had no idea what I was doing abusing him. It was really funny how different cultures use ways to celebrate things like a new month arriving. He soon got into it and introduced it back home. 😊
When I was growing up as soon as you woke up you had to knock on wood and say rabbit, rabbit before you spoke to anyone but that seemed to be ONLY at our house. Thankfully school taught me the Pinch and a Punch! 🙂
Oh, the clean up of mess. The worst! Hey, belated Happy Birthday, Joanne.

I know… time to begin my despairing over my Christmas cards I fear. Make them, buy them; make them, buy them?
