It never fails to intrigue me how different flowers bud. These flowers were no different with the petals seemingly shooting out from the safety of its sepal like light through a keyhole.
As I sit here now looking at this capture I realize I took a photo of these buds but not one of any of the actual flowers. Had any bloomed, were these the last on the bush, or was this all that was there to be seen? I wonder…
