Watching the sun set so behind the islands outside our windows is wonder enough but being spring, the sounds of hummingbirds flying from bush to bush filter through the open window.
Mother Earth, you certainly know how to spoil us. Earth is this week’s travel theme challenge from Where’s My Backpack!
One of my favourite visions of the world is when it’s covered in a blanket of snow. As the wrapping slowly melts, it reveals the wonderful gift beneath of the earth and all her beauty.
This was the corner of our backyard only last month. A tranquil sight of a reasonably thick covering of snow over the earth combined with the morning light filtering through the branches.
Earth is The Daily Post Photo Challenge for this week.
For the first three months of this year our poor plants outside were so confused. The earth would warm up to the point you’d believe Spring had arrived early then boom, either the snow would fall or the ground would turn white with frost.
In the photo above it was the latter. Our one and only pot plant outside, a mixture of ferns and moss, (what can I say – it came with the house and has yet to be dealt with…) was peppered with frost, making it shine in the morning light.
Looking through my archives for a photo to apply the Fish Eye effect, there seemed no better image then one I took earlier this week of a close-up photo of our darling Fergus. What fun to make a cat’s eyes into fish eye!
