This gorgeous big brut was hanging out at Disney World’s Animal World. Seeing them in the wild was definitely on “my list“. Sadly however just as I planning my trip through Africa last century, traveling to see them had been stopped. Dang it!
Animals in captivity is something that can upset me but I have to admit, Disney World seemed to be doing it well and I don’t believe I’m just saying that as it was so thrilling to see them so close…
Gorilla is this week’s One Word Photo Challenge from Jennifer Nichole Wells.

These are fascinating creatures, Joanne. We once tried to find them in the mountains between Uganda and Rwanda, but never came very close. Great shot too!

My gosh, you were so close Helen, how frustrating that must have been for you! And thank you🌺

What about Disney’s Animal World made you change your mind or become more comfortable with their concept of the zoo?

Disney is the only exception to my dislike of zoo’s thus far. The overall size of their enclosures is what appealed to me. Given you have to board a vehicle to see them wandering, if you at all saw them, is what I like.

So it was more like a safari experience it sounds like. The lack of space is definitely one of the reasons I do not visit zoos. Thanks for the insight, I’ve always wondered about this spot.
