The tulips have been absolutely stunning here this year. The colored tulips all having various shades throughout the bloom rather than the one block color. Simply glorious!
The background of this photograph has me more than a little intrigued as nowhere in this house is this color. Not that I’m complaining at all as it blends beautifully with my tulip!
These old fruit trees, even with its gnarly old branches, still had new blooms sprouting from them.
The color of these blossoms was simply exquisite. The contrast of the old with the new truly glorious.
Growing up these flowers, the good ole’ pig-face, were some of the very first my mother planted in her garden of the home she’d had built. In absolutely no time there was so much color surrounding her new home on the east coast of Australia.
Imagine my surprise then when we were staying in southern Morocco and saw these colorful beauties growing abundantly in the fields. Of course I’ve since discovered these blooms are rather partial to growing in rocky, sandy conditions!
This summer I’m toying with the idea of planting sunflowers in our yard. Just where in our yard I have no clue as technically we only have the one unsuitable flower bed.
As I look at this sunflower that was growing randomly in a field, it makes me wonder if I should simply sprinkle sunflower seeds across the backyard and let nature take care of the rest!
Rather then adding to the greys outside, for Monday’s this month I thought I would go with some colorful macros to brighten things up!
These were just some of the many beautiful blossoms that were adorning the apricot trees at our kasbah in southern Morocco. Delicious jams made with the previous seasons apricots were enjoyed with our breakfast each morning.
These flowers were outside in the gardens of the Chihuly Glass and Garden exhibition in Seattle. It was the end of the day, the sun was setting and people were not wanting to stop whilst I took my happy snaps.
Consequently I wasn’t particularly happy with any of my photos. That was until I transferred one to my phone. Oh the joy of photo editing apps… they breathe new life into anything!
It may not have happened at the end of last year as many of us had hoped and dreamed, but it will happen… eventually.
That glass ceiling will be broken by women and equality will finally rain down upon females everywhere… eventually!
