Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is a “must-do/must-see” tourist route on the South-West side of Iceland. It covers approximately 300 km, looping from Reykjavík towards central Iceland then back again.

Golden Circle LoopOur tour took in Thingvellir National Park, Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Hot Spring and Haukadalur Thermal Area and Waterfall Faxi.

Our Golden Circle Experience!

The tour seemed soooo expensive when booking but what we saw and experienced, it was worth every single Krona!

  1. Great info can you please send me the tour companies that you used for all of your trips in Iceland. We will be there in July and the sites you mention here are the same ones we would like to do and we need help planning !! Thanks

    • Hi Sue

How exciting – YOU’RE GOING TO ICELAND!!!

This is the tour group we used. The deciding factor for us was that they collected us from the house we were renting, which made life SO much easier for us… http://www.localreykjaviktours.com/golden-circle-tour-from-reykjavik_14674 .

We also did their Reykjavik Sightseeing Tour which was brilliant – the fish factory was smelling but so interesting. There were six in our group, with ages ranging from 3 to 83, yet all of us were happy. Due to time restraints the Hop On, Hop Off wasn’t an option.

We did the Blue Lagoon under our own steam on the drive back home to the other side of Iceland, staying the night at Northern Light Inn. The Blue Lagoon Hotel & Spa wasn’t open then, dang it!

How long are you spending in Iceland? Not that it matters, you’re going to Iceland! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did,

      Joanne x
