Looking in from the Outside (Friday Flower)

This glass flower must have measured at least two-feet across the top. There was an entire room of these flowers on exhibit at the Chihuly Glass and Garden in Seattle. The lighting accentuating their color and beauty.

If only I could have brought one home. Or more importantly, if only I could have afforded to bring one home – oh how wonderful that would have been!

Flashy Fake Flowers (Friday Flowers)

For something different this month, rather than editing photos of my fresh flowers, I’m going to be using flowers from the Chihuly Glass and Garden exhibition we visited in Seattle at the beginning of the year.

Chihuly’s glass is magnificent without editing. However, in this instance I couldn’t help myself by upping both the contrast and color just a smidge!🤣

Unexpected Hint of Red (A Photo a Week Challenge: Red)

Standing in the middle of the Grand Canyon, swamped by the surrounding grandeur, colours muted from the dust, seeing this burst of vivid red hidden within the tendrils of this plant was an unexpected surprise.

Initially I thought this plant was a cactus but after an hour of googling, unfortunately I still haven’t found a name for it. Anyways, RED is this week’s A Photo a Week Challenge from Nancy Merrill Photography.

Roadside Beauty (iPhriday Flowers)

Having stopped on my way to Kitimat to take photos of the river, as I walked back to the car these beautiful flowers on the other side of the road caught my eye.

Water Lily Grunge (iPhriday Flowers)

Little did I realize when I began editing this photograph I was actually channeling Monet. Love, love, love this grunge filter and how it transform a photo.

Forever Beautiful (iPhriday Flowers)

The colours in these flowers as the morning light hit them after a quick shower of rain seemed to really “pop” even though some were obviously well past their prime.
