Pretty Bird (One Four Challenge: Week 3)

Here we are already at Week 3 of the One Four Challenge from Robyn at Captivate Me.

The changes I’ve chosen to do may not be everyone’s cup of tea this week but when I did the Negative Effect on this image I was so surprised by the amount of color still in the wings that I just had to keep it.

Obviously I have a lot to learn when it comes to this Negative Effect as the amount of blue in this bird really threw me. In the interim however, I’m just going to enjoy the lovely side effects of the Negative Effect.

Pretty Bird (One Four Challenge: Week 2)

Okie Dokie, here we are at Week Two of Robyn’s from Captivate Me One Four Challenge and I have to say I was absolutely stumped. No matter what I did, it seemed to always have the same end result until I discovered the “reflection” effect.

Having tweaked the hues and contrast as much as possible then cropped the bird mercilessly, I then reflected the image, managing to add a wonderful gradient to the overall photo at the same time.

This is so totally out of my realm but that’s what I love/hate about this challenge, it is so freakin‘ challenging, lol! 😉

Pretty Bird – One Four Challenge

Here we go again… that’s a country song isn’t it? Which is rather apt considering I’m saddling up to give the Four One Challenge by Robyn over at Captivate Me another shot.

As crazy as this challenge sends me I really enjoy it. For this first week I was inspired by my earlier flower photo with the natural bokeh hence added some to this photo then upped the blue in the background.

This gorgeous little bird was singing the most glorious song at the Granville Island Markets, it’s what drew my attention to him. There were so many colors on this bird it was amazing as you’ll see in Week 4.
