Tornado (One Word Photo Challenge)

This week’s word from Jennifer Nichole Wells for her One Word Photo Challenge is… TORNADO!

Fortunately I’ve been very blessed never to have had first-hand experience with such a force of nature. Although I’m sure there’s many a time my family would disagree when looking at my art table whenever I’m in “the zone“, lol!

What’s that saying, “Creativity is Messy… and I’m  VERY creative!” And that’s my excuse and I’m stickin’ to it, lol! 😉

Travel Theme: HANDMADE… by Nanny

This week’s travel theme from Where’s my Backpack? is… HANDMADE. Having grown up in a household where it seemed EVERYTHING was handmade, right down to my knickers, it wasn’t hard to find something appropriate for this theme!

Handmade by Nanny

This is just one of the many intricate little cushions my mother has made over the years. Very few had the frill that this particular cushion has.

Normally after decorating the square my Darling Dad would mount them on painted-board whereby mum would either sell or adorn the house with yet another of her creations.

Miss Twelve is now the owner of this cushion and she couldn’t be prouder. She loved everything my mother created. Oh how she loved walking into her Nanny’s house to follow the creative trail to discover what the latest project was.

Saturday = Creative Day!

Whilst I was away busy working at the crop on Saturday Miss Ten was busy with a friend also. Check out this wonderful creation – how cool is this?!

Halloween Haunted House

I’m embarrassed to say that even though Darling Daughter made it Saturday, I didn’t even see it until this morning as I was so sick in bed yesterday with a flu that seems to be doing the rounds at present. Sad huh?

What’s sadder is that after my day of chores today that’s exactly where I’m heading back to as soon as I’ve fed the children dinner. My nose is dripping, my chest is aching, my head feels as if it’s going to explode and all I want is to go back to my bed.

Seriously… “mum, how much longer?”

Last day of the school year!

I seriously cannot believe today is the last day of the school year, honestly, where has the year disappeared?!

And me being me, although I have known for the entire school year that Miss Ten’s teacher was retiring at the end of the school year, did I begin her gift a few months ago? NO! I will say in my defense that I did begin contemplating it six months ago and DID know in my mind what I was doing so had instructions at the ready. If only I’d stuck to the plan… typical me!

When it came time last week to begin my creation I wasn’t happy with what I decided on. If I could find the instructions so easily on Pinterest then so could anyone and everyone else. Where’s the fun in that I ask?!

Hence I went back to what I know best and besides the cruddy lighting when I took the photos, I couldn’t be happier. What do you think? And that’s of the creation not the lighting thank you very much 🙂

Happy Retirement

Until I began work on this, I hadn’t realized how much I missed creating like this. As I’m a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I don’t get to use most of these embellishments anymore as they aren’t from that company so there’s little point on promoting them on my website (yes, I have another website… www.joannesinkeefiddlings.com )and quite honestly, I haven’t felt the need or the “inspiration” you might say to use them but I’m thinking that might all be about to change!

Thank You Mrs K

I even had the opportunity to use a machine I’d bought myself last year as a Christmas gift from my mother, finally! No longer will I have my family asking… “mum, how much longer?”

What’s with this creativity?

I’m not sure what’s going on but this boy of mine is having a real spurt of creativity of late.

When there were no more grapes to be had Master Eleven moved onto balloons and flour. He calls them stress balls, I tend to call them a mess!

Stress balls in the making

I simply look at what was once my dining room table, shake my head and wonder…  “mum, how much longer?”
