Spring awakenings (WPC – Awakening)

Despite what might be happening outside my window right now, the birds and blooms are telling me the earth is awakening. It’s spring time!

Awakening is the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge this week.

Beloved travel and children (WPC – Beloved)

Never did I dare dream that not only would I fulfill my desire of traveling to Morocco (and spending a night in the Sahara Desert) but I would do so with my young children. What an amazing time we had with so many incredible experiences!

Here my two little darlings are enjoying some “down-time” with a game by the pool at Sawadi, our kasbah for the week we spent in Southern Morocco.

The Daily Post Photo Challenge this week is Beloved.

Graceful Petals (WPC: Graceful)

The delicate, gracefulness of a rose and its petals are something that has been much admired for many, many years by many, many different people.

The unfurling of its petals as life takes its natural course is something beautiful to behold. Graceful is this week’s Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge word.

Rule of Thirds (WPC)

This week’s Photo Challenge from The Daily Post is Rule of Thirds… “a photography concept that puts the subject of the photograph off-center, which usually results in blank space in the rest of the image.

This photo of a life-sized sculpture created by Mare Mikoff came immediately to mind. I would see this piece each day through the window of the gallery whilst out walking during my visit to Tallinn, Estonia last January.

Rule of Thirds Mare Mikoff

Even now as I look at this work, I find it’s imagery quite haunting with its ghost-like quality appearing to walk through walls.

Beautiful Estonia, the children are still asking in regards to their visit to Tallinn and…  “mum, how much longer?”

Serenity Passing By – (WPC)

Be gentle, this is my first time attempting the Weekly Photo Challenge by the Daily Post. This week’s word is Serenity

This has to be one of my favorite photographs – so much so I have had it hanging on my wall since I took it!

We were just leaving Prince Rupert, having spent our first-ever week-end there enjoying Winterfest 2011. It was a wonderful week-end with the scenery on the drive home solidifying this.

It seems an age since we were last there, which naturally begs the question… “mum, how much longer?”
