Oh deer, two sweet! (Monochrome Monday)

The mother deer who gave birth to twins in our backyard last May, often brings her two babies back for visit. No matter how quickly they grow, they are still to us our babies.

Now the two fawns are much bigger, only one at a time will ever rest near their mother.  Perhaps this is a “deer thing” or it could simply be a case of this mound in our backyard really is just big enough for two!

Lopsided Growth (WPC: Growth)

This young lad had us smiling out loud when he stopped by Christmas morning to complete our picture of a white, albeit a very light white, Christmas complete with (rein)deer. Bless him, the lone antler lad.

Growth is this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge.

Seriously, do I LOOK like a Llama? (OWPC – Llama)

This is Herbert. I’d popped into the grocery store last month to simply pick up some milk and came away with Herbert. Herbert being the name the woman behind me in line named him. It stuck. He looks like a Herbert.

Herbert really is rockin’ the rustic vibe with all those pine-cones, twigs and burlap. His facial expression though for me is priceless. He really does appear to be quite shocked at being called a Llama.

Llama is the One Word Photo Challenge from Tourmaline this week.

WHAT THE??? (Monochrome Monday)

This is the look one gets when one is waiting for an afternoon apple snack. But rather than just pieces of apple, a crazy black and white cat comes shooting across the lawn chasing the apple… repeatedly!

Never before has Miss Poppy chased anything, let alone pieces of apple. Yet on this particular day she obviously thought this was a really good idea.

That was until Mother Deer saw what was going on, racing up to Poppy who quickly ran back inside. That was until the next piece of apple was thrown {groan}.

Excuse me? (WPC – Pedestrian)

The rules don’t apply so much when you’re young. You like to think you go where you want, when you want. Especially when you want the best seat in the house for the view. There are no consequences to your actions… until of course, there are!

Thanks to this little rebel, hubby is now going to have to re-roof our “summer-house” (and I use this term VERY loosely) sooner rather than later as we now have little hoof-holes like stars in the night sky allowing us unhindered water views.

Pedestrian is the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge for this week.
