When it comes to attractive insects the one that comes immediately to mind for most of us is the butterfly. If you can believe Wiki there are some 18,500 species. Who knew!
Insect is the One Word Photo Challenge this week from Jennifer Nichole Wells.
For this week’s Monochrome Monday, I decided to use something very different to my usual style. It’s a capture I took down at the river over the summer.
At first glance you may think this photo is upside down yet it isn’t. It’s simply the way I’m standing. I’m right beside the trunk of the tree (holding on so I didn’t fall if I remember correctly) then looking directly up.
Yes, it did make my head spin however the light filtering through the leaves was so beautiful I just couldn’t help myself, lol!
Yesterday before the much-anticipated tiny snow-flakes began falling from the sky, the sky filled with the clouds that have been absent for the last week.
As the sun attempted to make its presence still felt, the light that filtered through those clouds and through the needles on the pines was simply incandescent.
The light filtering through from behind this tree gave me a lift that I didn’t even know I needed. It was just so beautiful and peaceful!
Now with a spring in my step and snowflakes on the deck, no longer am I wondering… “mum, how much longer?”
