The Under Belly (One Four Challenge – Week 4)

Oh how time flies when you are having fun! Here we are at the fourth and final week of the One Four Challenge, hosted by Robyn Gosby from Captivate Me. For this final week I had fun… and lots of it!

For this week I transferred the image to my phone to edit it in Snapseed. For some reason known only to my inner being, I feel completely uninhibited when editing on my phone. One thing, leads to another, which leads to another, and voila!

Obviously I added the grunge filter, and I dare say I’ve done a little of everything else when it comes to brightness, contrast, saturation, ambience, highlights, shadows and warmth. Most likely there a vintage filter has also been used.

Below is a slide-show of all my submissions for November’s One Four Challenge. Hope you’ve had an opportunity to check out everyone’s awesome submissions for this challenge.

Many thanks to Robyn for hosting this fabulous challenge – fingers-crossed it makes a return in 2017!

The Under Belly (One Four Challenge – Week 1)

WOO HOO, it’s that time once again! Time for another One-Four-Challenge hosted by the lovely Robyn Gosby over at Captivate Me. My love-hate relationship with the challenge will be eternal, lol.

A few weeks ago my neighbour had all these mushrooms randomly appear across his front lawn. Having learnt he’s very “anti” the ‘schroom, the very first opportunity I had on seeing his vehicle driving away (knowing his shovel would soon be out) I was out with my camera. Here is one of ‘schroom’s and my Week 1

Not much was really done for this week’s editing. I’ve cropped it just a little to bring the gills closer as well as bumping up the contrast to also enhance these gills. Then it was just a little tweak to the vibrancy and clarity. As I said, really not much at all.

If you aren’t familiar with the One-Four-Challenge is where you choose one of your own photographs and for four weeks, you edit this photo differently each week. Sounds easy enough but doesn’t always work out that way, lol!

Photo Rehab Cover Makeover #13

That time of the week once again for another of Lucile’s and Desley’s wonderful Photo Rehab Cover Makeover challenges and this week it’s… a book cover.

Neither the author nor the title I’m familiar with but as 100% of royalties from this book are going to help the refugees arriving in Europe, for this reason alone it’s worth purchasing. Anyways, here is my take.

Cover Makeover #13

Right of the bat let me apologize for going for the obvious of white flowers but my head was stalled so I went with it. My tiny white cloth flowers sitting in a jar near me keep taunting me but to no avail.

Naturally, the moment I hit the Publish button inspiration will wash over me, causing me to scream in pain as what I should have done becomes abundantly clear. Don’t you just love that moment?

Getting to the Bottom of IT! (Wordless Wednesday)

Getting to the Bottom of Things

ROY G. BIV… a man who requires no introduction! (WPC)

Well maybe just a little introduction if you aren’t already familiar with him or this week’s Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge which is… ROY G. BIV.

This is the acronym for RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET, or as I prefer to say… “all the colors of the rainbow“!

Originally my plan was to post just one VERY colorful photo but as looked around me yesterday morning I couldn’t resist creating my rainbow from my very own surroundings.

How blessed are we to be able to walk freely amongst such beauty? Such a glorious world!
