Timing is everything and this morning was no different.
Watching as wisps of the morning clouds appeared motionless in the morning light, small flocks of birds began appearing from the valley below.
Only ever in small numbers – sometimes in pairs but never greater than five. It was simply glorious to witness this renewed life soaring into the new day.
And as quickly as it began, it was over. As to when I’ll be standing in the right spot at the right time to witness this again… “mum, how much longer?”
We’d hoped for more clouds to greet us this morning upon awakening but alas, the sun was shining extraordinarily brightly instead, as if boasting she’d outwitted those pesky clouds.
Perhaps tomorrow we’ll have more success with clouds and a little rain but for now I’ll simply close the curtains from the blinding light whilst muttering to myself… “mum, how much longer?”
Sailing up the Mississippi into New Orleans last October was exciting enough, but to be witness to this glorious sunrise was the icing on the cake!
This past week has been one of great reflection as I attempt to find the best photos of nearly 3,000 taken on our cruise last year for an album. Finding a needle in haystack would be easier I think, lol! 🙂
Each photo reminds me of just how blessed we are with the holidays we have taken these last few years. Once in a life-time experiences.
Sailing up the Mississippi was one of these experiences, no longer do I need to ask… “mum, how much longer?”
